Call us old fashioned but we still like to get the newspaper in the mail box every morning. Reading the paper (but mostly the funnies) just seems like a good way to start the day.
We’re also into all forms of responsible recycling and newspapers certainly are made for that. That’s probably why we have a stack of them in our recycling bin today.
But there are other great ways to recycle or reuse them.
One way is to make little planters out of them. It’s not that hard to do and they work great as a biodegradable planter. Just plant them in the ground and they’ll dissolve and easily allow the roots to go where they may.
Newspaper also works great as a weed guard. Just put them down in flat layered sheets at the bottom of your garden bed and they’ll hinder weed growth for some time.
