Growing Cost Effective Vegetables

People start a garden for many reasons.  For us, it was mostly a matter of knowing where our food came from.  We like the idea of having fresh produce right out back and it was cleanly grown which was a plus too.

Beyond that, there’s no question that gardening is a fun hobby but make no mistake, it does take some work to get great results.

So for a lot of folks, growing their own produce isn’t intended to be a big money saving venture.  You can often get cheaper produce just by going down to the local store or farmers market.

But that’s not to say there aren’t cost effective plantings to add to your garden.  They do exist and are worthwhile to think about if you’re really trying to cut costs or work in some tight spaces.

Our friends at Earth Easy put together a nice rundown which includes six of the top cost effective vegetables to grow in your garden.  Check it out here.
